Friends That Make Us Laugh A Poem

Someone told me
I am no longer doing
What I love best
I am not writing.
I used to write
Two or more poems daily.
Now I am lucky
To write one
Every other day.

Losing one's voice
Losing one's will
And strength
Is terrible
As I have no muse
Or inspiration.

But he, my friend
He is not dumb
He knows he might
Just start a fire
Under my ass!
Case in point
This little piece
Lamenting my
Sorrow filled
And sorry state.
He has tried
This tactic before
For other topics.
Like cleaning my house
And exercising
And indeed I do budge
With his push and nudge.

But sometimes
I get really pissed off!
Thinking his taunting
Just criticism
Not constructive
Just insults.
Then I tell him so.
I guess it all depends
On my mood that day.
Like in so many things
Moods determine
How much I do
And/or how little.

So I will thank my friend
You don't know how
How much fun
And laughs we have.
He is like a nephew
As he is like one in age.
There will never be
Anything sexual
That is for sure!
As he is not heterosexual!

I think we all need folks
That can see us at our best
And worst
And make us laugh
At our bad habits
And foibles.
And my friend
Does that for me
And I, vice versa!

 .. have you noticed that it's always just you and me... who are up at these crazy early hours of the day?
I love the silence and the feeling that I'm the only person in my part of the world.... who's awake.
Crazy, right?
And then when you're up... well... it makes me think - I'm not, totally alone.
And that's a nice feeling too. 😶💚

Paul! Night Owls Unite! LOL I am such a geek. There is a show on Sunday mornings at 4 AM that if I am up until 2 AM I say I can make it til 4 AM. LOL Ever hear of Murdoch mysteries? It is about Toronto around the turn of the 20th century. It's very interesting. But I suffer for it by not being awake until around Noon on Sunday. I don't have cable so I cannot record the show etc. Although that might solve some of my issues. So no brunch for me today. Lunch will have to do. It is a nice feeling to know I am not awake alone.I do love seeing that you have read my poems that I post late into the night.
