Try clove oil. Clove oil contains the active ingredient eugenol, which is a natural anesthetic. It helps numb and reduce pain to ease a toothache. Eugenol also has natural anti-inflammatory properties. Clove oil should be available from a health food store.

They make temporary filling paste you can usually get it at the pharmacy hope that helps!

Just a thought, but maybe placing a chewing gum plug over the damage may do some good since the nerve won't be exposed. Go back to ER is the other obvious solution.

Oil of clove( usually comes on prepared gauze packing strips) is what is used when someone gets a "dry socket" after tooth removal when the patient does not follow directions. Call the pharmacy and see what's available. Also there is a paste for temporary fractures of teeth. PS Men are wimps!!! He should be old enough to solve this himself. Oragel is a topical that can numb it. Not sure how long it will last.

Ibuprofen is better then Tylenol for that type of pain. I agree clove oil or freeze it with orajel….
